Part of Darlington Building Society's ethos of looking after local interests is building enduring relationships with grass roots sport in the region. One example is the Society's support of the North Yorkshire and South Durham Premier Cricket League.
North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Premier Cricket League
The Society has sponsored the North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Premier Cricket League since 1990, one of the most enduring sponsorships in cricket. The NYSD Premier Cricket League consists of 26 clubs throughout the region from Barnard Castle to Redcar.
COLOURFUL NEW LOOK FOR DARLINGTON CRICKETERS
To celebrate 20 consecutive years of sponsorship of the North Yorkshire and South Durham (NYSD) Cricket League, Darlington Building Society helped one of the competing teams to sport a colourful new look.
Darlington Cricket Club have purchased a distinctive new green and yellow kit in order to compete in 15/fifteen matches and Darlington Building Society stepped in to cover the costs.
Kelly Barker, Customer Service Assistant at the Society's Darlington Sentinel branch said, “The Society has a long-standing association with local cricket and as well as supporting the NYSD League we have also supported Darlington Cricket Club since 1990".
She added, "This new kit is really stunning and we wish Darlington Cricket Club every success".
