opening your account at a branch
If you open your account at a branch, you will need to let us have one proof of your name and one proof of your address. You must let us have one original document from each list below:
Proof of your name
- current valid full UK passport
- current UK full, signed driving licence or photocard
- employer ID card with photo and signature, if the company is known to our branch staff
- pension book or other DSS/Benefits Agency payment order book
- bank or building society account statement
- medical card - but only for applicants under 18 years of age
- birth certificate - but only for applicants under 18 years of age
Proof of your address
- current UK full, signed driving licence or photocard
- utility (water, gas, electricity or telephone) bill from the last three months
- council tax bill from this year
- credit card statement from the last month
- recent bank or building society account statement
