looking after local interests

At Darlington Building Society we are proud to play an important role in looking after the interests of our members.  We like to think that our members also benefit from being part of the only mutual building society based in County Durham, the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.

What does mutuality mean?

Mutuality means we are run for our members.  As a building society, we have no outside shareholders to pay dividends to.  This means all of our profits are used to benefit our members through attractive interest rates and efficient and friendly service.  We offer a straight-forward and attractive range of mortgage and investment products, especially designed to meet the current and future financial needs of our members and customers.

We have over 150 years experience in looking after local interests and we are committed to remaining a strong independent mutual for the long term.
