community support

Darlington Building Society is dedicated to looking after local interests. We have been a community focused organisation since we were formed over 150 years ago, in 1856.

We are actively involved in a huge number of community based organisations and events. During the past twelve months 160 worthy causes within County Durham, the Tees Valley and North Yorkshire received our support.  During that time Society staff also devoted countless hours of their own time to help make our region a better place to live.

Our contribution to the local community has been recognised at the prestigious Mortgage Finance Gazette Awards. At the latest ceremony in November 2008, the Society won the Community Services Award for the second consecutive year, a remarkable achievement for a northern based regional lender.
