Darlington Building Society Scoops Award for Treating Customers Fairly
Darlington Building Society has won the “Treating Customers Fairly” (TCF) Award at the prestigious Mortgage Finance Gazette (MFG) Awards held recently in London.

The Awards are open to all mortgage lenders throughout the country and this latest award brings the Society’s collection of MFG awards to eight, more than any other lender of any size.  This is the first time that an award has been presented in the Treating Customers Fairly category but in the past few years Darlington Building Society has won the award for Community Services four times and the Support for the Arts award three times.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) insist that TCF is embedded within financial services organisations and carry out audits to ensure this is the case.  In the latest review of the Society by the FSA the feedback was particularly positive which helped the Society to achieve this latest recognition.

Sheena Hunter, Darlington Building Society District Manager with particular responsibility for the Northallerton branch and the North Yorkshire region said “Treating Customers Fairly is a vital part of our role and one we care passionately about.”

“She added, “It is always reassuring however when our efforts are recognised by independent judges.  This is an award which demonstrates our commitment to treating customers fairly and consequently we will treasure it greatly.”
