st teresa's hospice to gain from a christmas bear with no name

The Northallerton branch of Darlington Building Society is running a fund raising event to support St Teresa’s Hospice. Although the hospice itself is based in Darlington, approximately 35% of referrals come from the Northallerton/ Richmond area.
All customers of the Society’s Northallerton branch have to do is guess the name of the bear seen in the photograph. Guesses are just £1 each and everyone has an excellent chance of winning the bear which would make an ideal Christmas present. He is resplendent in a smart Christmas outfit and many of the potential names have a Christmas theme.
Sheena Hunter, the Society’s District Manager based at Northallerton branch has been personally involved in fund raising for St Teresa’s for the past couple of years and along with her staff in the branch has worked tirelessly for this excellent cause.
Already this year they have organised coffee mornings, an Easter egg hamper raffle and a number of other fund raising events, but the Guess the Name of the Bear Competition is likely to be the most popular.
Speaking at the launch of the competition, Sheena said, “During 2009 we have already raised over £136 for St Teresa’s Hospice and it would be nice to double that sum before Christmas.”
She added, “St Teresa’s is a wonderful organisation doing a great job, but they rely for a large proportion of their funding on donations from the public and fund raising events such as ours. I would like to encourage as many people as possible to come into our branch between now and Christmas. As well as the opportunity to support such a worthy cause as St Teresa’s Hospice everyone will be assured of a welcoming smile!”
