darlington building society advertises for a non executive director
As part of our long term planning we intend to recruit a new Non Executive Director.
You must be a qualifying member of the Society. In addition the attributes required include the following:
• The ability to act objectively in the best interests of the Society.
• A strong affinity with our mutual culture.
• The ability to act in accordance with statutory duties.
• Substantial relevant experience gained at a senior level in order to contribute to the development of our strategy and to provide adequate oversight of operational performance.
• Willingness to take responsibility for the long term success of the organisation.
• The ability to work as a constructive member of the Board
Darlington Building Society operates in a highly regulated market providing financial services products to our members. The successful applicant will need experience of the market place and of operating at executive level. Ideally you will live and/or work within our branch operating area.
You will need to attend monthly board meetings as well as board sub-committees. You will also need to be able to allocate such additional time as is necessary to consider the appropriate board information packs, to maintain your professional development and to make a full contribution to the development of the Society
The term will be for three years, subject to approval of our members at the first Annual General Meeting following appointment. The term may be extended after three years at the discretion of the Board and subject to the approval of members. The appointment is also subject to the approval of the Financial Services Authority as the successful applicant will be undertaking a controlled function within the terms of the Financial Services & Markets Act.
A fee is payable for this position.
