DARLINGTON BUILDING SOCIETY SUPPORTS CHILDREN’S WARD AT THE FRIARAGE HOSPITAL
Darlington Building Society has helped brighten up the children’s ward at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

The Northallerton branch has donated £100 from the Society’s community fund to go towards buying toys and games for the children being treated at the hospital.

Staff also encouraged visitors to the branch to make a donation, creating a window display dedicated to the children’s ward which also helped to increase the amount of toys and games that were donated to the Friarage by Roberta Chan and Henri Kennedy, both Customer Service Consultants at the Northallerton branch.

This year Darlington Building Society is celebrating its 160th birthday, to honour this the Society are pledging to help raise £160,000 which will be donated to local causes and staff will be completing 160 volunteering days.

Roberta Chan, said: “The team and I are honoured to have been able to support the children’s ward at The Friarage Hospital. It is great to be able to put a smile on the faces of children and families who are going through a tough time and bring them a little bit of joy. It is important no matter what they are going through they are still able to feel like other children do, playing with toys and games.

“I have to thank all of our lovely members and visitors to the branch who made donations and helped us fundraise for the hospital.”
