Our supported charities

The funds raised will be split between three charities equally.  From the types of charities our members voted for at the last AGM, our staff nominated three charities to be beneficiaries of the Annual General Meeting: Teesdale and Weardale Mountain Rescue, Trinity Holistic Centre and Darlington Town Mission.

Darlington Town Mission

Darlington Town Mission was founded in 1838 by members of the Society of Friends (Quakers) to help the poor and needy of the borough.  Through time the charity has changed focus helping growing numbers of socially isolated and elderly people.  Their service users enjoy a monthly afternoon outing programme, regular visitors and some join together for a fortnightly luncheon.

Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team

Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team operates 24 hours per day every day of the year. They provide a search and rescue service for the whole of County Durham, from the high fells in the West to the coastal communities of the North Sea. The team responds to requests by the police to a range of incidents, from injured or lost people in the hills to vulnerable missing people in urban settings. The team's skills and resources continue to grow to keep pace with their developing role.

Trinity Holistic Centre

The Trinity Holistic Centre provided support to over 2,500 people affected by cancer last year and the number of people accessing their service is increasing.

The centre wants to offer all families affected by cancer and long term conditions across Teesside, North Yorkshire and County Durham; the opportunity to access emotional, practical and wellbeing support to help cope through diagnosis, treatment, living with and beyond their diagnosis and for some,  support at the end of life.
