Today, at their Urlay Nook base, we handed over a cheque to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) for almost £500.
The donation was raised by our members, simply by opening a High Five Saver account. For each new account opened, we donate £5 to this vital local charity. Between April and June, 96 new High Five Saver accounts were opened, amounting to a £480 contribution to GNAAS.
Louise Thorpe, Distribution Director at Darlington Building Society has recently taken our community work into her remit, she said: “By our members being community-minded and choosing our affinity account, I’m delighted to present this wonderful charity with our latest quarterly donation to support the lifesaving work that they carry out day in, day out. The Air Ambulance is completely funded by charitable donations, so every little helps in helping them off the ground to those most in need in our region.”
Victoria Rogers, corporate fundraiser for Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “It is absolutely amazing to get this donation from Darlington Building Society.
It means so much to us because GNAAS is one-hundred per cent charity-funded. Every penny of the £480 means vital funds to support our next mission when the helicopter takes to the air to help someone in need in our area.
“By signing up to this account, each customer is helping to save lives, and we thank you very much.”
