Serving the North-East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria 365 days a year, the Great North Air Ambulance Service flew 853 missions last year alone. Our aircraft themselves provide a vital lifeline but it is the on board crew who bring the life-saving care to the scene of the incident, whether that is on a fell top, a roadside, or in a city centre. But we can only respond because of the continued support of the public. The service costs around £5m every year, and this is all raised through public donations.
