Consumer Duty

Consumer duty came into effect on 31 July 2023, which sets higher expectations for the standard of care that businesses must provide to consumers and is a significant shift in regulation.   At Darlington Intermediaries, we are here to support brokers in ensuring they continue to help their clients achieve their financial objectives.

These documents will support you when deciding what product to recommend to your client. You will be able to select the document relevant to the product you’re interested in to understand more.

The documents contain information on:

  • Characteristics and benefits
  • Target market assessment and distribution strategy
  • How it relates to customers with characteristics of vulnerability
  • Our assessment of value

We have worked with external partners to ensure these documents comply fully with our responsibilities as a lender, to support everyone in the borrower journey in achieving the best possible outcomes for the client.
