The insurance offered is a twelve month contract. The insurance may be renewed each year, but renewal will be subject to the terms and conditions that apply at the time of renewal.
Darlington Landlord Insurance offers a buildings and landlords contents policy where the maximum claim limit for buildings and landlord's contents is shown on your schedule. Buildings and landlord's contents cover is available for properties with no more than 5 bedrooms.
The maximum claim limit for buildings must be high enough to cover the cost of rebuilding your property and for landlord's contents must be high enough to replace, as new, all the landlord's contents of your property.
The different sections or extensions of cover available are buildings, landlord's contents (both of which allow you to choose whether you include cover for accidental damage and malicious damage by a tenant), Let Home Emergency Optional Cover and Landlord Legal Expenses & Rent Guarantee Optional Cover. The sections and extensions of cover you have chosen and the maximum claim limit are shown on your policy schedule.
There must be a written single tenancy agreement of at least 6 months in place directly between you and the individual tenant(s) who will occupy it.
Properties let with multiple tenancy agreements (homes of multiple occupancy), that are used as holiday homes or that are sub-let or bedsits are not acceptable.
Darlington Building Society will introduce you to Uinsure Limited who will undertake the selling and administration of your home insurance policy. The home insurance policy is underwritten from a panel of insurers. Details of the insurer applicable to this insurance will be stated within your policy schedule.
The Home Emergency policy is arranged by Uinsure, underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance Societe Anonyme which is fully owned by the AXA Assistance Group and administered by Arc Legal Assistance Limited.
The Legal Expenses policy is arranged by Uinsure, underwritten by Inter Partner Assistance SA and Administered by Legal Insurance Management Limited.
