It’s almost time!

Darlington Building Society’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is just one week away. We are really looking forward to welcoming our members in person after a two-year, pandemic-induced digital hiatus.

Want to join us online?

Members who aren’t ready to meet face to face just yet are able to join us online.

All of the relevant information can be found in voting packs, or on our website:

Our AGM is a great way for members to have their say on how the Society is run. It is also a useful forum for members to ask our Board and senior leaders any questions they may have.

Because we are owned by and run for the benefit of our saving and borrowing members, we hope everyone utilises their vote to have their say. And we look forward to seeing those who can attend the meeting – be it in person or virtually – at 6pm on Monday 25 April.

After a record-breaking 2021, the year ahead is brimming with opportunity for us to make a real difference for our members, colleagues and the local community.

For our members, a few helpful reminders:

Attending our AGM

There’s still time for eligible members to confirm their attendance at this year’s AGM. Registration closes at 12.00 noon on Friday 22 April 2022.

The event is taking place at the Great North Air Ambulance Service base in Eaglescliffe. It Is also being streamed online. Whichever option members choose, simply email or telephone 01325 741037 to confirm attendance.

Voting closes on Wednesday 20 April 2022 at 5pm.

All voting will take place prior to the event, so it is important that members cast their votes before the window closes.

As a mutual, we strongly believe in helping our local communities and promoting the benefits of online voting for the environment. Therefore, this year for every valid vote made online, we will donate £1 to a local charity. For every valid vote made via post we will donate 50p to a local charity.

What’s more, members can help select the charity to receive the total donated from this year’s AGM votes by selecting from a short list when they cast their vote. The charity that receives the most votes will receive the full amount, which will be announced during the meeting.
