Society continues to invest in its high street presence with Stockton refurb

Published: 7th February 2022

Darlington Building Society continues to invest in its high street presence by refurbishing another of its branches.  Guisborough, Yarm, Barnard Castle, Northallerton and Redcar have all been refurbished or in Redcar’s case a new branch opened in the last 3 years.

And members in Stockton will soon be able to join them, and enjoy a new look and feel to their town centre branch.

To allow the works needed to make these changes Stockton branch will be closed from 4.00pm on Friday, 4 March 2022, for 2 weeks, reopening at 9.30am on Monday, 21 March 2022. Members are welcome to visit any other branch during this time with the closest branches being Middlesbrough and Yarm.

Louise Thorpe, Distribution Director at Darlington Building Society said: “Darlington Building Society is committed to serving its members, staff and the local community.

“This latest refurbishment is part of our ongoing development plan to invest in the local community, support members and remain on the high street.

“Our branches are important to our members who use them to transact, for mortgage meetings, savings reviews and independent financial advice.

“Having a high street presence is key to us and to our members. We are doubling down by reinvesting our profits into making modern, fresh spaces that people enjoy visiting.”

The refurbishment of the Stockton branch will create a fresh, modern, and welcoming atmosphere, while advanced technology will be introduced to further enhance the customer experience.

A new community screen will also be installed, showing live updates of what is happening in the area, as well as the impact the Society is having locally.

All other branches will remain open to ensure members can continue to access their accounts at another branch, or by using the Darlingtonline system where possible.

The Society’s Facebook page will share live updates from on site as the new branch starts to take shape.
