Darlington Building Society sponsor The Witham’s Family and Children’s

A vibrant and growing Arts Centre in Barnard Castle with an increase in uptake for family theatre, workshops and films following the Summer of Stories, The Witham is in a strong position to create a wider arts offering and is seeking to push beyond arts events and into more sustained and in-depth activity.

Working with Darlington Building Society will enable The Witham to offer more meaningful and enjoyable experiences for the community, schools and visitors, building strong partnerships with local organisations to support and encourage growth across commercial and cultural platforms.

This Partnership package will enable The Witham to support arts workshops connected to The Witham’s Arts programme for schools in Teesdale, as well as supporting children’s theatre performances with transport, providing subsidised tickets for school visits over the year.

Darlington Building Society and The Witham will also be running an Enterprise competition for local secondary schools, hosted at The Witham to support students in developing business skills and awareness.

As Sarah Gent, Communications and Marketing Manager of The Witham comments ‘It’s fantastic to work with Darlington Building Society to help families and schools experience and enjoy the arts here in Barnard Castle. We’re looking forward to enabling more children to share creative experiences here at The Witham, thanks to Darlington Building Society.’

The Witham’s reach extends to corporate and business engagement, with a host of rooms and studios for hire as well as an exclusive business membership package, Creative Professionals, which Darlington Building Society have joined as part of the sponsorship package.

As Ruth Murray, Customer Service Consultant from Darlington Building Society’s Barnard Castle branch says ‘We are very proud to be supporting the Family and Children’s programme at the Witham.  It’s a great opportunity for local families and children to enjoy the arts on offer in Barnard Castle.’
