We are making changes to the way we receive payments into your account, in line with Payment Services Regulations. For Darlington Building Society members, this may affect the way payments are credited into your savings and mortgage accounts.
What is changing and why?
We’re changing how we process credits into your account. Part of these change will require that the following details are quoted when a payment is sent to your account:
Darlington Building Society Sort Code: 40-05-30
Darlington Building Society Account Number: 14575881
Reference: Your 8 digit Account Number
Your Account Number can be found in your passbook or mortgage statement.
From 3rd June 2019, if this information is not quoted we will be unable to identify your payment and it will be returned to its original source.
What do you need to do?
To ensure your payments are received, it is really important that you check and if required update these details with your bank and/or third parties who make payments into your account, before the 3rd June 2019. After this date Darlington Building Society will not be responsible to you for any loss or inconvenience you suffer if these details are incorrect.

Watch out for fraud
Remember to be vigilant when you receive communications from someone claiming to be us. We will only ever write to you about your account, we would not email, text or phone you.
